About
Annies Cafe & Bar in Downtown Austin
Annie's Café & Bar is a modern
Brasserie in the heart of downtown
Austin, Texas. Inspired by the bustling
bistros of New York and the great
literary sidewalk cafés of Europe,
owners Love Nance and Sherry Jameson
have reinvigorated the legendary Day
Building at 319 Congress and created a
space not only for dining but for
meeting, drinking and experiencing.
Monday through Saturday, the smell of
freshly baked baguettes and simmering
soups complement sound from the clinking
of glasses. A familiar team of loyal
staff return and a new chapter in Austin
culinary history begins.
Annie's Austin History
Established
in 1982 as Apple Annies, Nance and
Jameson lost their lease of 26 years and
found themselves without a home. Rather
than simply relocate, they decided to
start anew with the vision of a
full-scale restaurant open daily from
7am to midnight, serving everyone from
morning joggers looking for fresh
organic omelets; to legislators
insisting on Annie's famous meatloaf; to
couples gazing across a leg of lamb in
the evening; to artists, writers and
night creatures sitting, sipping and
enjoying a new downtown Austin vibe.
