Convention and Visitor Bureau Visitor Center offers free Austin walking tours
of downtown scenic streets and sightseeing destinations.
Our tours are available from March to through November and are outlined
below. |

BREMOND BLOCK TOUR This 90-minute tour begins across the street from the Governor's Mansion
and continues through Wooldridge Park to the historic Bremond Block, where stately 19th-Century mansions chronicle the lives of
the John Bremond, Sr. and John Robinson, Sr. families. Explore the fashionable residences of two Victorian families,
(1854-1898). Guided tours for Bremond Block meet at the south entrance of the State Capitol at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March through November.

CAPITOL GROUNDS TOUR
The legend and lore of the red granite Texas State
Capitol echoes through the chambers of the imposing structure, and through
a wide circle around the restored building. A guide will provide
information on statues, memorials and building surrounding the Capitol.
Guided tours meet at the south entrance of the State
Capitol, Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. March through
November. |

6TH STREET TOUR
A 90-minute walk through the historic downtown area
of Austin. Learn the story of the founding of the city, the Republic
Capitol, and the granting of statehood. See the elegant business
houses and hotels.
Guided tours meet at the south entrance of the State
Capitol, Thursday through Saturday at 9 a.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., March
through November. |

Austin on historic Sixth Street. Open Daily from 9am - 6pm.

From Mopac (Loop 1): Head towards downtown and take
take the 1st-5th St. exit.
Take 5th St. for about a mile and a half. Turn left on Trinity. Turn left
on 6th St. Center is up two blocks on left.
From IH-35:
Head towards downtown and take the 234C Exit. Head west on
6th St. for 5 blocks. Center is on left. |
