About Hickory Street Austin Bar and Grille
Tucked in a rising hill behind a beautiful garden patio on the corner of 8th (Hickory) Street & Congress Avenue, Hickory Street Bar & Grille has evolved over 20 years to become an Austin casual dining tradition. Being half underground creates an illusion of smallness. However, over 250 can be seated in several rooms & on the garden patio. It is cozy but not dark; sunlight streams in from ground level windows at the top of 18' ceilings. We also have live music for your entertainment!

Hickory Street Austin Bar and Grill The menu features steaks as well as 1/2 lb. Gourmet Burgers, Sandwiches and Delicious Entrees. You may also feast on a vast array of buffet style Food Bars.

At Breakfast, all the usual morning fare is available along with specialty Omelettes, the Ultimate French Toast and many TexMex breakfast dishes.

The weekend Brunch Buffet offers a selection of hearty breakfast choices including Migas, Omelettes, Eggs Benedict, Eggs Sardou, fresh fruits and breakfast breads, as well as many lunch choices such as Crawfish Etoufee, Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice, and Bar-B-Que. Hickory Street offers affordable catering for your special meetings or parties. We have also have a full bar with specials not just at happy hour but All-Day-Every-Day.

Marley Fest Tacos $8.99
Jerk marinated catfish with fresh cilantro, topped with
Mango Salsa and purple cabbage. Served with Cuban
black beans and seasoned rice. $8.99

Texas Grilled Ribeye $15.99
Dammit these are good. Smothered with sautéed
mushrooms and caramelized onions charbroiled
to perfection. Served with garlic mashed potatoes
and grilled asparagus.$15.99

Blackened Salmon $11.99
We love our Yankee friends, that’s why we included a fish
they may be familiar with. Drizzled with tequila lime sauce
on a bed of Spanish rice and grilled asparagus.

The Frisco Burger $7.59
Our best selling addition to our menu. Two slices of
sourdough bread lightly buttered and grilled. The burger is
topped with our Frisco sauce, American cheese,
caramelized onions and three slices of grilled tomato all
sandwiched together forming one awesome burger.

Charbroiled Chicken and Jack $7.99
Charbroiled to perfection, topped with two slices of
Monterrey pepper jack cheese, served with lettuce, tomato
and onion. Also available Blackened or Jamaican style with
honey jalepeno dressing.

Famous Phillies $7.39
Choose from either a thin sliced rib-eye steak, fajita chicken,
or steamed vegetable medley. Grilled with jalapenos, green
peppers and onions, then topped with Monterrey
pepper jack cheese.

Directions: Hickory Street is located in the heart of downtown on the corner of 8th and Congress (Just two blocks South of the Capital).

From IH-35: Head downtown and take the 7th Street or 9th Street West to Congress Avenue.

From Mopac (Loop 1): Head towards downtown and take 5th Street East to Congress Avenue and turn left towards 8th Street.
