About Max’s Wine Dive Austin, TX
A
newcomer to the downtown Austin scene in May 09, Max’s Wine Dive offers
a new, high vibrant option to the burgeoning Convention Center District.
With the only other location in Houston, Max’s isn’t just another
corporate extension of a well oiled machine.
In fact, its about as far away from corporate in its mantra as you can
get with the slogan “Fried Chicken and Champagne, why the hell not”
branded on its homepage.
The
Ambiance at Max’s Wine Dive
Austin
The Convention Center District is home to successful and sophisticated restaurants in
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar,
Fogo de Chao,
Roy’s Hawaiin Fusion, and PF Changs. Newcomer Max’s Wine
Dive is sassy blend of
casual and upscale. With an extensive wine menu they definitely cater to
an urban crowd. However, the menu screams of good old fashioned home
cooking and the staff comes dressed in jeans
and tight tee shirts. Throw in a very polished effort from the kitchen
and you’ve got a combination that is definitely unique to the area. By
that we mean the convention center district and Austin in general!
Max’s
Wine Dive Austin, TX Menu
Here’s where it gets colorful. Someone ordered for us and we started out with wild-harvested gator bites…because who wants to eat farm raised gator? That was coupled with Nacho
Mama’s Oysters where the “nacho mama” means fried and on won tons with
aioli and habanero. Those were followed with an order Chicken Fried Chicken that some say is their
signature dish and Shrimp n Grits. Max’s
definitely caters to the culinary cavalier! And if you’re date isn’t
overly adventurous…well, that’s nothing a few glasses of great wine
can’t remedy. We definitely suggest you put Max’s Wine Dive on your
downtown Austin radar.
