The Iron Cactus in downtown Austin is located in the heart of historic 6th street. The turn of the century building was remodeled in 1995 to include our famous rooftop patio and three levels of indoor seating, all with ample views overlooking Austin. Our award-winning cuisine blends integral Mexican attributes with progressive cooking techniques to create unique and flavorful dishes. In addition to our food, we’re also recognized as one of the top ten tequila bars in the country. We feature over 80 selections of tequila from Mexico and specialize in a variety of margaritas and tequila drinks unique to Texas.

Three mini four tortillas filled with sautéed lobster, Monterrey jack cheese, served with sweet red pepper coulis and pico.
Camarones a la Parrilla
Five jumbo shrimp, stuffed with jalapeño pepper and Monterrey Jack cheese, wrapped in bacon. Served on a sizzling platter with our tangy lime butter sauce, Mexican rice and choice of beans.
Santa Fe Skewers
Tequila marinated jumbo tiger shrimp and choice tender beef, skewered with fresh vegetables. Served with cheesy corn cilantro rice.
Tender breast of chicken stuffed with Iron Cactus corn bread and cheddar cheese , over Mexican rice, topped with our delicious jalapeño cream sauce. Served with garlic herb broccoli.
