How does the Texas Lottery use the money you spend on your favorite games? For every dollar spent on lottery products, an average of 27 cents is transferred to the Foundation School Fund to help pay for the education of young Texans. The Texas Lottery has raised more than $16 billion for the state of Texas since the first ticket was sold. Of that amount, over $11 billion went to the Foundation School Fund.
