Austin Rowing Dock CoachesLearn to Row in Austin
Austin Rowing Dock is the best place to learn to row in Austin. Our lessons are designed to teach you the basics so that you can continue to row for years whether you choose to compete or to recreate. Beginner rowers will be shown the basics of rowing by utilizing "land equipment" such as rowing machines and dock trainers. Next, it is time for rowers to get into an actual scull and apply all of the skills they have learned. Our coaches don’t just tell you the basic technique and send you off while they stay on the dock—they will be with you on Town Lake throughout all your lessons

Austin Rowing Dock CoachingIn terms of instruction we offer three options:

  • Package of 5 1-hour private lessons + 1 month rowing membership: $250.00
  • Package of 5 1 1/2 hour semi-private lessons + 1 month rowing membership: $200.00
  • Beginner Rowing Course: 6 lessons + 1 month rowing membership + graduation row: $165.00

About Austin Rowing Dock Austin Rowing Dock HeadquartersMemberships
After completion of your instruction or with proven sculling experience, you will be certified to row on your own--so you can become a member. As a member, you can row as often as you like, whenever you like. Rowing Dock members also have free access to our rowing machines, and to our rental fleet which consists of paddle boats and kayaks. We organize full-moon rows, and encourage participation in local races. Also, we have an E-mail list server for members to exchange information, meet potential workout buddies, and to coordinate rowing in double and quad boats. As a unique feature of our service, we have a dock attendant on duty everyday of the week. The dock attendant will help you get your boat in the water and offer informal instruction. We also offer free weekly coaching sessions to our members, which is a great way to brush up on your skills. Membership prices start at just $36 per month. For more information on memberships visit our main website at www.rowingdock.com
