Austin is known to have some of the best spots for pictures in the Lone Star State. But with summer temperatures already soaring, we’re all looking for ways to beat the heat and still have fun. Recently I was invited to visit the Texas Selfie Museum and it was a perfect way to have fun downtown without dealing with the heat. The day we went also happened to be my 5th anniversary of moving to Austin, so this was a perfect way to celebrate!
Possibly my new fave pic!
One could easily consider this space “Austin’s Garden of Instagram”: 35 installation spaces across 2 floors with all the props, lighting, and backdrops to take some awesome selfies! Photo assistants are also available to help you capture your best angles. There are even plans for a champagne bar on the ground floor. And before you ask: YES, I will be going back for the bubbly!
My husband, Bert, was an excellent photo assistant when we visited!
The Original Selfie Museum started in Denver, Colorado in 2019 and soon branched out to other locations across the country. The Austin location opened in 2022.
Tickets for the Texas Selfie Museum are $28 during the Monday through Thursday and $34 Friday to Sunday with sessions lasting one hour. There are also Annual Selfie Passes available for $68. This VIP option gives you unlimited visits to the museum (without a reservation!)
Texas Selfie Museum has all the things you'll need for awesome selfies!
Not only will you enjoy an hour of fun capturing your new favorite photos, but all the proceeds from the sales at the Texas Selfie Museum will be donated to support volunteer missions in Ukraine. After all, there’s something about helping others that makes us all smile a bit brighter!
