Truly a landmark property, the Hotel Saint Cecilia is the type of rock-star hotel experience that travelers seek out when coming to Austin. An exclusive enclave in the Travis Heights neighborhood, parts of the hotel’s campus date back to 1888 when a descendent of Davy Crockett lived there (Talk about Texas History!). It was converted in the 1990s into a B&B then purchased by Bunkhouse (one of Austin’s premiere hoteliers) in 2008, thus solidifying Hotel Saint Cecilia as one of the most sought out destinations for travelers, creatives, or those who want to be in the heart of it all.
Ready to relax like a rockstar?
The Stay
Walking onto the property of Hotel Saint Cecilia you’re immediately taken out of the hustle and bustle of nearby South Congress, and into a beautifully styled environment that brings out the best of rock-n-roll and beat poetry. One of the things you’ll also notice upon entering the property of Hotel Saint Cecilia is their “Hero Car”: A dark silver, 1970’s era Citroen. (Keep a lookout for “Hero Cars” whenever you stay at one of the Bunkhouse properties!) It’s easy to see how the car and the decor from the late 1960s/early 1970s paint a picture of luxury and inspiration. You’ll also notice an opulent collection of blues flowing through the hotel and dotted into the decor, Hotel Saint Cecilia’s signature color that feels like it’s been plucked directly from the sky.
This boutique hotel currently offers 5 Suites, 6 Garden Suites, 6 Poolside Bungalows, and 3 Studios. Each of the 20 guest quarters are stocked with Grown Alchemist bath products as well as mini-bars with local and European snacks.
Each room & suite is uniquely decorated.
When booking a Suite or Garden Suite, you’ll notice each one comes with a large bedroom, spa mini-bar, lounge, and private outdoor seating areas. If you feel like most of your time is going to be spent next to Hotel Saint Cecilia’s Instagram famous “SOUL” pool, make sure to reserve one of their 6 poolside bungalows. Looking for something a little more low-key? Escape into one of Hotel Saint Cecilia’s 3 Studios located above the lobby and lounge area. There you’ll have a private terrace to lounge on and plan your adventures around the city.
Amenities Like None Other
Named for the patron saint of poetry and great musicians, Hotel Saint Cecilia offers amenities and services that invite you to relax, recharge, and connect with your inner creative forces. One of our favorite spots around Hotel Saint Cecilia is their 50 foot, heated lap pool with the iconic, 4 foot tall, red porcelain “SOUL” sign (easily one of the most photographed and recognizable features from the ATX).
The "SOUL" Pool at Hotel Saint Cecilia
While relaxing in your room, you’ll want to take advantage of the lending libraries the hotel offers. Musicians love the guitar loan partnership between the hotel and Gibson Guitars. But if playing music isn’t in your repertoire, you can still enjoy Hotel Saint Cecilia’s collection of vintage vinyls, turntables, and books available to guests. Need to take some of that vintage music home after vacation? Breakaway Records also partnered with the hotel to bring guests an exclusive shopping service that would make anyone feel like a VIP.
When you’re ready for a night out in SoCo, Hotel Saint Cecilia offers in room, private styling from one of Austin’s premier, luxury fashion & lifestyle brands, ByGeorge.
