About Carmelo's in downtown Austin
Carmelo’s Ristorante is Austin’s answer to an authentic Sicilian kitchen spiced with continental chic. All the ingredients are here – the pungent smells of garlic, the irresistible sounds of an accordion, a collection of limestone buildings that open out to a charming piazza recreating the village of Taormina where Carmelo was born and, of course, a sundry of the best Italian pastas, wines and desserts.

The Menu at Carmelo's

Specialties include pasta, veal, seafood, beef and poultry dishes – and a pastry selection that is absolute primo. The staff will also happily prepare and serve vegetarian fare on request. Carmelo’s four private rooms accommodate from 10 to 300 people at a time for banquets, holiday parties, business meetings and receptions. Large groups of conventioneers or visitors can be seated at a moment’s notice if a room is available.

Established in 1985, Carmelo’s is located in the historic “Old Depot Hotel” at Fifth and Red River near the Austin Convention Center. Open for lunch weekdays from 11-2:30, Carmelo’s is open for dinner Sunday through Thursday from 5-10:30 and Friday and Saturday until 11. Carmelo’s Houston, est. 1981, is located at 14795 Memorial Drive west of Dairy Ashford.

Combo Pasta Sampler – combination of Lobster Ravioli, Risotto Luisa and
Rigatoni con Pollo.  $22

Grill & Sautee

Grilled Filetto of Beef –  (8 oz) topped with garlic and tomatoes or Béarnaise
Sauce.  $29
Grilled Veal Tenderloin – served with mushrooms, marsala wine sauce and fusilli pasta.   $30
Veal Piccata -  tender Scaloppine, sautéed with capers and fresh lemon juice served Mediterranean vegetables.  $21

Seafood

Salmone Fresco – Fresh salmon served over a bed of fresh spinach topped with a delicate garlic and lemon butter sauce.  $26
Gamberi Ripieni – grilled shrimp filled with crab meat, accompanied by wild rice, asparagus and a red bell pepper sauce.  $26
Red Snapper Mango – “a Taste of the Tropics” – Grilled Red Snapper over a risotto pancake, served with asparagus and a dry Vermouth Mango Sauce.  $26

Poultry

Pollo Carmelo – lightly breaded chicken sautéed and topped with mushrooms, black olives and garlic herbs, served with fresh vegetables and olive mashed potatoes. $20
Pollo Parmigiana – breaded chicken breast, topped with tomato sauce and cheese served with spaghetti.  $20

Directions:  Carmelo's is located in downtown Austin on the Northwest corner of 5th Street and Red River.  Complimentary Valet Parking is available.

From IH-35:  Head towards downtown and take 6th Street west two blocks to Red River.  Turn left and Carmelo's will be on your right.

From Mopac:  Head towards downtown and take the 5th Street exit.  Follow it past Lamar and Congress to Red River.  Carmelo's will be on your left.
