The Old Pecan Street Cafe is located in a Historic Landmark building which lies at the center of Austin's famous Sixth Street district.  Their building was erected by J.W. Simpson in 1905 for his new hardware store. The limestone rubble walls of the structure were originally part of the Radcliffe Platt Livery dating back to 1872.   In 1972, the Old Pecan Street Cafe opened its doors and has been thrilling guests with its unique menu and ambiance ever since.  They are within a few blocks of many downtown hotels, the convention center, and many of Austin's premiere nightclubs.  In this setting they offer first-class dining with a historic ambiance and menus that deliver a French twist that is subtle yet enticing.

The lunch menu at Old Pecan Street Cafe offers menu items that range from $8.95 to $12.95 that includes a Chicken Marsala, Seafood Etoufee, and 4 lunch sized varieties of their famous crepes.  The dinner menu adds items like Steak Bordeaux, Veal Marsala, and Blackend Redfish to the culinary mix and ranges from $10.95 to $24.95.  They also offer separate Brunch menus on Sunday a early dinner menu from 3pm to 6pm and are known for their extensive dessert menu that includes several delicious cakes and dessert version of those tasty crepes.

Old Pecan Street Chicken - A tender breast of chicken, delicately filled with our
special pecan pesto, lightly sautéed in butter and herbs, then complimented with Dijonaise sauce.   This delicious dish served with seasoned rice.  $14.95

Steak Bordeaux - Eight ounces of choice tenderloin filet broiled and served with a beef and red wine sauce of mushrooms, onions and herbs. This Pecan Street specialty has been a favorite year after year.   $24.95

Chicken Poppicotti - Old Pecan Street's own recipe is a breast of chicken stuffed with spinach, pecans, herbs, and cheeses; roasted and served with Hollandaise.   Served atop seasoned rice.  $14.95

Blackened Redfish - A fabulous filet prepared in Old Pecan Street's own unique
blend of spices and topped with our Etoufeè sauce. Served over rice.   $17.50

Seafood Etoufee - Fresh morsels of our finest seafood specially seasoned, sautéed, then gently folded into our own Etoufeè sauce.A delicious spiced Cajun dish served over seasoned rice.  $15.95

Veal Marsala - Medallions of veal, fresh cut in house, lightlybreaded, then sautéed in our reduced Marsala wine sauce.   $18.95

Crêpes Poulet - A dinner crêpe filled with tender chicken and mushrooms, in a tarragon cream sauce.  $ 10.95

Crêpes d'Epinard - A dinner crêpe filled with fresh spinach and imported cheeses.
$ 10.95

Crêpes de Mer - A dinner crêpe filled with seafood, onions and mushrooms enfolded in a white wine, cream and curry sauce.   $ 10.95

Quiche Lorraine - The Pecan Street Favorite, made with ham, scallions, and an abundance of Swiss cheese.  $ 10.95


Old Pecan Street Cafe Austin Directions: Old Pecan Street is located on historic 6th Street in downtown Austin.  6th Street gets blocked off on holidays, Friday, and Saturday nights and is usually full.  Keep that in mind when looking for parking. 

From Mopac:  Head towards downtown and exit 1st Street and follow it past Congress to Trinity and turn left.  Follow Trinity to 6th street and turn left again.  Old Pecan Street Cafe will be on your right, between San Jacinto and Brazos Streets.

From IH 35:  Head towards downtown and exit 6th street and head West.  Follow 6th street past San Jacinto and Old Pecan Street Cafe will be on your right.
