About Umi Sushi Bar and Grill Austin, TX
Located in a strip mall next door to
Texadelphi, Umi Sushi Bar and Grill
offers quite the surprise in ambiance
from what one would expect. It's
like walking into one of Austin's
downtown sushi restaurants,
Kenichi or
Maiko, as the decor is done with a
similar touch of excellence. But
unlike its downtown counterparts, Umi
sushi prices are a little easier to
digest. They offer a regular bar
and a sushi bar, for those who prefer
the bar experience. They also
feature regular dining with seating
arrangements that cater to large parties
like a huge circular booth and table.
And of course a private room in the back
for private parties. |

Umi's menu, like most Sushi bars,
consists of 20-30 sushi and sashimi
pieces, anotehr 20-30 rolls and hand
rolls, a choice of combination plates,
some bento box dinners, and a spread of
actual entrees. A nice addition to
the average sushi menu is the list of
Noodles dishes. Sashimi ranges
from $3-$8, while rolls range from $4.50
to $14. Entrees range from an $11
Tempura Udon to a $28 Kobe Style Wagyu.

MOPAC (Loop
1):
Head to the
South side
of town and
go East on
either Hwy
71 or
Capital of
Texas Hwy to
Hwy 71 and
continue on
Hwy 71 until
you reach
I35.
Exit and go
south on the
feeder road.
Umi will be
ahead on
your right
just before
you reach
Stassney.
From
IH-35:
Head to
South Austin
and take the
Stassney
exit.
