Zilker Eagle Mini Train
Choo Choo!!


This Austin legend was recently revamped and reopened with a sleek new train but has been here since 1961. Located right in the heart of Zilker Park and next door to the Barton Springs Pool entrance. You and your kids can hop in a mini open air train car that carts you all around the park. Enjoy a mellow ride while taking in the beautiful views of Barton Springs, Zilker, LadyBird Lake, Downtown Austin, and more! Central Public Library
Pages and Pages of Adventure!


More than just a library, this is a culture and community center. They have multiple different floors to explore with a ton of cool activities, art, music, and more. Check out the current works on display in the gallery from local and nationwide artists. Head to the 3D printing makerspace to complete a project or work of art yourself. Kick back and listen to a good song at the music stations. Grab some food and drink at the new restaurant, Cafe Creme. Attend special events or just head in any time, there’s always something to do. When you go, don’t miss the stunning views from the balconies!

Cidercade
What a View!


This isn’t your grandpa’s arcade. No coins needed, once you pay to enter the games here are free and unlimited. Get your fill of all your favorite classics like Pac-Man, air hockey, shooters, fighters, DDR, and anything else you could want. They serve cider for the big kids and pizza for everyone. Head out to the patio for one of the best views in town of the lake and downtown skyline and then head back in for another match.

Butler Park & Doug Sahm Hill
Doug Sahm - a Texas Legend


One of the best playscapes in the downtown area. Explore this massive metro park filled with slides, tunnels, activities, art, water features, and more. Make the Austin pilgrimage to the summit of Doug Sahm Hill. Here you’ll find a stunning stone map of Texas and an even more breathtaking view of Downtown Austin. Will you follow the spiral path all the way around or impatiently run up the side? Either way you’ll love the feeling of being on top.

Pease Park Troll & Treehouse
Magic in the Air!


One of Austin’s beloved outdoor rec areas. This park is filled with playgrounds, trails, fields, and more! Home to one of Thomas Dambo’s famous troll sculptures, Malin’s Fountain is a must see. Follow the paths through the woods and right up to her tremendous toes. Wander then to the Tree House. This is an interactive sculpture that allows you to lay and play up in the canopy on a large nest-like net.

Botanical Garden
Get Lost in Fairy Land


One of Austin’s most picturesque spaces. Frolic like a fairy while you stroll through this lush green oasis. From the koi ponds in the Japanese Garden to the historic keyhole window in the Rose Garden, this place feels straight out of a painting. Many folks take their celebratory photos here for graduations, engagements, and other meaningful life moments. Get away from all the pavement and go explore over twenty acres of blooms and butterfly territory.
