In honor of National Oyster Day we have compiled a few recommendations for getting your oyster fix any and every day throughout the year. Not everyone is looking for the same thing in their oyster experience so we have different suggestions depending on tastes, budget, and atmosphere. No matter what they all serve outstanding oysters and a good time. Austin might not be a coastal city but we still have some superb seafood to select from.


Fine Dining
If you are looking for a place that will deliver the highest quality seafood alongside the highest caliber service, here are the best in seafood and fine dining. Not only do they serve oysters, they are some of Austin’s Best Restaurants across the board. Be prepared to spend here but you are paying for the best chefs, servers, and atmospheres in town. Perfect for special occasions or a meaningful celebration. 

  • Truluck's - Downtown, white tablecloth, famous for crab
  • Ember Kitchen - Downtown, live-fire cooking, Latin American cuisine
  • Perry’s Steakhouse - Downtown, white tablecloth, Steakhouse, famous for pork chop
  • Uchi - South Lamar, Japanese cuisine, features fish directly from Japan’s Toyosu market
  • J Carver - Downtown, white tablecloth, Oysterbar & Chophouse, wood grill 
  • Eddie V’s - Downtown, white tablecloth, prime seafood, live music 

Causal
These restaurants are going to offer superior seafood in a more laid back environment. No need to dress up to dine at these remarkable restaurants. Although you won't find white tablecloths and servers in suits, you will still enjoy the same high quality menus.

Intimate/Small Settings
Some of the best places are also the smallest! Whether you are looking to avoid a crowd or for a romantic date night setting, these are some great options. Make reservations at places like this to ensure you and your party get a good seat.
